Cancún International Airport (CUN):Approximate driving time is 15 minutes and distance is 8 miles.

Driving directions from Cancún International Airport: Take airport access road going east and follow signs to Zona Hotelera and Blvd Kukulcan. Proceed north on Blvd Kukulcan, hotel is located near Km marker 20 on right hand side of road.

Authorized taxis, minivans (or collectivos), and private cars are the best way to make the journey from the airport to your hotel. Transportation options can be accessed as you exit the terminal to your right. A private taxi to downtown Cancún: $16–$25 USD. A private taxi to the Hotel Zone: more than $36 USD. Collectivos provide transportation to downtown Cancún: $5–$15 USD. A private car service to your hotel can be arranged: more than $36 USD. Rental cars are available at the airport and on this Web site: more than $36 USD. Note: Only authorized taxis are allowed to transport guests from the airport to their hotels. However, all taxis can take passengers to the airport from the city or Hotel Zone–cutting the fare almost in half.

Getting around: The hotel is located within Zona Holtelera, or Hotel Zone. Public and private buses connect the Hotel Zone to downtown and ferries: less than $5 USD. Once downtown, most tourist attractions are easily accessible by walking. Taxi rates in Cancún are determined by zones and the minimum fare within the Cancún Hotel Zone is $5 USD per ride. A list outlining the various taxi rates throughout the city should be available at the resort front desk: $5–$15 USD. Taxis can be rented by the hour or day if you want to visit the historic ruins outside of the city: more than $36 USD. Always negotiate your taxi fare before beginning your trip. Rental cars offer a convenient way to visit historic points outside the city: more than $36 USD. Mopeds are a convenient, yet extremely risky, way to get around the city and islands: $26–$35 USD.

    AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Casual comfort is the rule here, as couples come to relax, sun, swim, and eat and drink whenever suits them. Only Salvatore restaurant has a dress code, and that's not rigorous. The resort's entertainment staff organizes optional games and activities on the beach and around the main pool.

Amenity highlights: Guests sun beside two pools above the beach. The good-size main pool comes with a volleyball net and is surrounded by a sunning terrace overlooking the sea. The Quiet Pool, a medium-size triangle, is isolated away from activity and music and has its own sundeck. A popular feature is the outdoor, L-shaped spa tub, which includes a non-jetted section under a wide waterfall, allowing guests to enjoy a waterfall massage. The postcard-perfect, white-sand beach in front of the hotel offers thatched-roof palapas for shelter from the brilliant sun.

Insider tip: As part of their All-Inclusive Plan, guests are entitled to use pools and beaches and dine and drink in restaurants and bars at all six other Palace Resorts: at the Moon Palace south of Cancún Island; and at two Palace Resorts on the Riviera Maya, Xpu-Ha Palace and Aventura Spa Palace, about 50 miles south of Cancún. Transportation, however, is not provided. Beach Palace and Cancun Palace are also on the Cancun hotel zone.

The 237-room, eight-story Sun Palace features a heated, open-air, semi-indoor pool, with sauna and steam room adjacent. A fitness center supplies aerobic and weight machines. Massage is available in the beauty shop. At one end of the lobby are two pool tables. At the other, adjacent to the lobby bar, is a dance floor and a setup for a DJ to play music four nights a week. Also in the lobby area are a jewelry shop and a clothing boutique. Internet access is available with the lobby's computer. Like all major Cancún hotels, the Sun Palace is equipped with a water-purification system.
Petit fours and sparkling wine are also available upon arrival.
